For everything the general bin can't touch.

Dedicated collection and recovery for hard-to-recycle streams: separated at the point of use, hauled UK-wide, and delivered to reprocessors with a genuine home for the material.

Streams we run

Three streams. Three nationwide services.

Paper cups, paper hand towels and LDPE or flexible film: each collected separately, recorded, and sent to a named recovery route.

What separ8 changes on site

More than the material getting recycled.

Cups, hand towels and film are streams that conventional mixed collections often struggle to recover. Taking them out separately changes what happens to everything else in the bin store.

  1. 01

More of your specialist material recovered, and less of it going into general waste

  2. 02

Cleaner paper, card and mixed recycling, because the wet and awkward streams are taken out at source

  3. 03

Stackable cup collection takes up less storage space, which can free up room in a tight back-of-house area

  4. 04

Where volumes support it, that creates an opportunity to review bin capacity or collection frequency

  5. 05

Simple, obvious participation for staff and customers, with front-of-house design and team training included

  6. 06

Evidence of the material recovered from each site, in a form you can use for sustainability reporting

Any change to containers or collection frequency depends on your volumes and site layout, so we look at the service data before recommending it. We report what we collect and the recovery route it is sent to, rather than claiming a verified destination for every individual load.

Why source segregation

Because contamination kills recycling.

Mixed recycling looks tidy in a marketing photograph. In reality, a single wet coffee cup in a paper bale can drop the whole bale's grade, and value, to landfill economics. The only way to get high-quality recyclate is to separate at source.

A

Mixed collection

  1. Cups, towels and film in with dry mixed recycling

  2. One wet cup contaminates the bale

  3. Bale downgraded at the sorting facility

Rejected. Landfill or energy recovery economics.

B

Source segregation

  1. Stream separated at the point of use

  2. Dedicated haulage, kept apart in transit

  3. Delivered straight to a named reprocessor

Recovered. Evidenced tonnage and a verified end market.

separ8 designs the front-of-house collection, trains the team, moves the material and records what is collected from each site, with evidence you can use for environmental and sustainability reporting.

Cups, hand towels, film or something more awkward. We will tell you whether there is a reprocessing route for it, and what a collection would look like across your sites.
